Javascript at Khan Academy

Hello All!

Today's lesson is the beginning of a journey using something called Javascript.

We are going to use Khan Academy to help us learn how to use the Javascript language to draw shapes and move them around.

First of all, you need to log-in to Khan Academy (use your Google account).

Then you need to follow the instructions below to join the class I've set up for you:

The code you need to type in will be given to you in the class.

Then, work through the class carefully... I will be able to track your progress through my 'dashboard'!

Good luck!

Exciting Times!!

You have all been given a Google Account!! Wahey!

You will receive a slip of paper with an email address (user name) and a password.

You can use this account to log-in to other accounts too! So you only need 1 user name and password. That's very useful.

Today's lesson is all about understanding how this works and how to behave responsibly when using the account.

By the end of the lesson you should be able to log-in and use:

Khan Academy
Code Academy
Duolingo
Brainrush
Google Drive

And maybe more!

Learning Python

Hello All

I'm not going to be in school this Monday (as you will be able to see as I'm not there!)

You have 2 tasks:

1) Create a poster (using Microsoft Word) sharing the fact that you are learning to code using Python on Codeacademy.

2) Log in to Codeacademy and carry on learning!

Remember: don't get frustrated. It is a challenge.

Also - when using Codeacademy: if it tells you to type something in then type EXACTLY what it says. Any extra spaces or spelling mistakes will cause you a problem.

Good luck.
